LEGAL

Terms & conditions.

Blue Mountains Sauna Pty Ltd · ABN 22 659 365 018 · Last updated 12 June 2026

The short version: book through Punchpass, turn up, sweat, plunge, repeat. The longer version is below. These terms exist so everyone knows where they stand, and so the sauna stays the calm, safe place it's meant to be.

On this page

  1. Who we are, and agreeing to these terms

1. Who we are, and agreeing to these terms

In these terms, we, us, and Blue Mountains Sauna means Blue Mountains Sauna Pty Ltd (ABN 22 659 365 018), trading from 7 Quinns Avenue, Leura NSW 2780 .

By booking a session, buying a pass, gift voucher, or membership, or walking through our door, you agree to these terms, together with our house etiquette and privacy policy. If you're booking for someone else, you're responsible for making sure they've read and accepted them too.

2. Sessions

A standard session is two hours, and that includes shower time at the end. Arrive on time: the clock starts at your booked session time, not when you walk in. Some sessions have their own format, age limits, or dress code (for example clothing-optional or Aufguss sessions); details on each session page apply alongside these terms.

3. Bookings & Punchpass

All bookings, passes, memberships, and gift vouchers are processed through Punchpass, a third-party booking and payments platform. When you book, you create a Punchpass account and your payment is handled by Punchpass and its payment processor, subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We don't store your full card details on our systems; see our privacy policy for how your information is handled.

A booking is confirmed when Punchpass issues a confirmation. Spots are limited and allocated in booking order, so booking ahead is the only way to guarantee a bench.

4. Cancellations & no-shows

Plans change. Cancel more than four hours before your session starts and the session credit returns to your account, ready to use another time. Cancel inside four hours, or simply not show up, and the session is forfeited. This is because late cancellations leave benches empty that someone else would have happily filled.

5. Passes & packs

  • Passes and packs are valid for two years from the date of purchase.
  • A fully unused pack can be transferred to someone else: contact us and we'll move it across.
  • A partially used pack can't be transferred (though you can share it; see section 7).
  • Sessions in a pack are redeemed through your Punchpass account and are subject to the cancellation terms in section 4.

6. Gift vouchers

Gift vouchers are valid for three years from the date of purchase, in line with NSW gift card law. They can be redeemed against sessions, passes, and (where the listing allows) memberships through Punchpass. Vouchers aren't redeemable for cash, and any unused balance stays on the voucher until it's spent or expires.

7. Sharing a pack

Packs are shareable: you can use your pack to bring partners, friends, or family with you, as long as you're attending the session too. If you'd rather keep a larger pack to yourself, ask at the front desk and we can lock it to one nominated person; this can only be arranged in-store.

8. Memberships

  • Minimum commitment: three months, billed weekly through Punchpass.
  • After the minimum term: your membership continues week to week until you cancel.
  • Freezes: you can freeze your membership once per billing cycle, for between one and four weeks. Ask us before your billing date and we'll set it up.
  • Personal to you: memberships are non-transferable and can't be shared.
  • Use it that week: unused weekly sessions don't roll over to the next week.

9. Private hire

Private hire bookings (whole-venue or private group sessions) are non-refundable once booked. We'll happily move your booking to another date if you give us more than 7 days notice, subject to availability. Inside 7 days, the booking stands as made.

10. Refunds

Outside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (which always apply; see section 14), we offer refunds on passes, vouchers, and memberships only in extreme circumstances, for example a sudden illness or injury that prevents you from continuing to use what you've bought. Get in touch, explain the situation, and we'll work something out with you. We may ask for supporting evidence such as a medical certificate.

11. Children & under-18s

  • Under 18: $20 per session, payable in-store.
  • Under 16: must be supervised at all times by a parent, guardian, or a consenting adult.
  • 16 to 17: may attend unaccompanied with the consent of a legal guardian.

Heat and cold affect small bodies faster than big ones. Keep children's sauna stints short, keep them hydrated, and keep them within arm's reach around the plunge. Some sessions are adults-only (18+); the session page will say so.

12. Health & safety

Sauna bathing and cold-water immersion are wonderful, and they carry inherent risks: heat, cold shock, dizziness, fainting, and interactions with some medical conditions and medications. By attending you accept those inherent risks and agree to manage your own exposure sensibly.

  • Check with your doctor first if you're pregnant, have a heart condition, low or high blood pressure, or any other medical condition that heat or cold could affect.
  • Hydrate before, during, and after your session.
  • Listen to your body: if you feel dizzy, unwell, or just off, step out, cool down, and tell a staff member.
  • Follow staff direction at all times. Our team's instructions on safety override everything else.
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask a guest to leave if we believe their participation is unsafe for them or others, including where alcohol or drugs are involved.

13. House rules & etiquette

Our etiquette page is part of these terms and is incorporated by reference: sit on a towel, shower before you sweat, keep your voice low, respect the door, respect each other. Repeated or serious breaches of the house rules may result in being asked to leave without refund, and in serious cases, being refused future entry.

14. Liability & your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded by agreement.

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to those non-excludable rights, we exclude liability for loss or damage arising from the inherent risks of sauna bathing and cold-water immersion described in section 12, and our total liability for any claim connected with these terms or your visit is limited, at our option, to resupplying the relevant services or paying the cost of having them resupplied. We are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings brought to the venue, so leave the heirlooms at home.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when sessions, pricing structures, or the law change. The current version always lives at bmsauna.com.au/terms, with the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Changes apply from the date they're posted and don't affect bookings already made, except where required by law.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

The Aufguss sauna and cold plunge cycle

01

REGULAR SESSIONS

Australia is in desperate need of a new sauna culture, and we're here to change that!

This session provides access to both communal saunas and cold plunges, for all genders and ages.

Aufguss and our new Savusauna run from 2pm midweek and from 11am on weekends.

Aufguss/Infusion is a multi-sensory sauna ritual from Germany that combines water and ice with essential oils, towel movements, and music to create a unique ambience while elevating your regular sauna round (subject to our Saunameister' availability).

Infusions are included in your session, however capacity is limited; guests are welcome to join one infusion during their booked session.

A few points to help you get the most out of your sauna session

  • INCLUDEDComplimentary filtered water, tea, salt for your hydration, bench towels and slippers are provided with each visit.
  • BRINGA water bottle, 2 bath towels, or one towel and a robe. Both are also available for hire at an additional cost (Towel $7, Robe $15).
  • BEFORE YOU ARRIVEDon't sauna on an empty stomach but avoid eating a large meal 2 hours prior to your session. Coffee right before your session is not a good idea.
  • SIT SWEAT CHILL REPEATListen to your body, push yourself responsibly and take time to rest/chill properly between rounds. It's not a competition!

Respect for Environment

  • The sauna is a shared space. Please be respectful of others, the facility, and the experience you're all here for. Together, we can create a sauna culture that everyone can enjoy.
  • Conversation is welcome, but keep it calm and low. The sauna is not a pub, if it can be heard across the room, it's too loud. Our rest areas are the place to socialise properly.
  • This is a neutral space. Leave divisive topics - politics, religion, vaccinations, gender debates - at the door.
  • We never know what others are carrying. Keep the sauna a safe and settled place for everyone.
  • Inappropriate or disrespectful behaviour toward guests, staff or the facility may result in a permanent ban.

Silent session at Blue Mountains Sauna

SILENT SESSIONS

Everyday life is loud. The average person speaks 16,000 words a day. Silent Sessions exist for the moments when you need none of them.

Each person who enters the sauna arrives with their own reasons and intentions. Silence honours that. An inclusive, supportive space that holds whatever you arrived carrying.

When we remind guests they've booked into a silent session, the most common response we get is… "oh thank god."

When

  • MORNINGEvery day 7–9am
  • EVENINGEvery day 6–9pm
  • Except Tuesday's men's session and Thursday's women's session.

Where

  • Silence observed in the Aufguss sauna and cold plunge wet area.
